Southside Park in the Edison neighborhood covers nearly six acres of area and is perfect for small gatherings. A pavilion with two picnic tables and a grill offers a nice spot for a birthday party or afternoon cook out. Not far from the pavilion there is a water fountain and playground. There is also a paved trail around the park, and up the hill from the entrance you'll find a half basketball court and a full soccer field.
In 2024, a new playground was added to the park and the basketball court was resurfaced. Soccer goals are coming soon to the resurfaced grass field as well!
The picnic area at Southside Park is available to rent. It's great for gatherings of 20-30 guests that do not need electricity. The cost is $105 for four hours along with a $50 refundable deposit.

Southside Park was developed as part of the Works Progress Administration in 1940 at a cost of approximately $65,000 between the City and Federal Governments.
