Kik Pool is Open for the Season

Summer fun at the Kik Pool

Kik Pool (1018 Walter Street) is now open for the 2024 season, offering open swimming, lap swimming, swim lessons, and fitness classes throughout the season.

The pool is open for Lap Swim, for adults 18 and older, daily from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The pool is open for Open Swim for all ages, Monday through Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Aqua Fitness classes will be hosted at the pool by Just Move Fitness and More starting on Saturday, June 8 for adults 18 and older and youth accompanied by a participating adult. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Aqua fitness classes are included in season passes or participants can purchase a daily pool pass to participate in a class. There is no additional fee to participate in an Aqua Fitness class. Information and scheduling for swim lessons are still being finalized and will be shared soon.

Season pool passes are available for purchase at the pool or at the Kzoo Parks office (251 Mills St). Day passes are $7 for adults ages 18 and above, $4 for youth ages 2 to 17, and kids under 2 years old have free entry.

Season passes are available for individuals, families, and youth. An Individual Season Pass is $90 for city residents or $135 for non-residents. A Family Season Pass is $115 for city residents or $155 for non-residents. A Family Season Pass includes up to six family members per address.

Youth Season Passes are also available for youth and teens ages 12 to 17. Youth Season Passes are $40 for city residents or $55 for non-residents. City residents can apply for financial assistance to use toward the purchase of a resident youth membership through Kalamazoo Friends of Recreation.

The Kik Pool is also available to be rented for group events or birthday parties. For pool facility rentals, community members can visit the Kzoo Parks office (251 Mills St) or call 311 or 337-8000 to learn more. More information on Kik Pool is available at www.kzooparks.org/kik-pool.

In addition to Kik Pool, the Florence Street Splash Pad (534 Florence St), LaCrone Park Splash Pad (535 W Paterson), and Woods Lake Beach (2900 Oakland Dr) offer opportunities to cool off during the summer. Splash pads are open through Monday, September 2 with water features available daily at the Florence Street Splash Pad between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and the LaCrone Park Splash Pad between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Woods Lake Beach is also available daily in the summer from 8 a.m. to sunset.
