We are continuing to build upon the success of CAMP KZOO in hopes of making this the best year yet! 9 different themed weeks have been planned for our sites this year which will include special activities and field trips specific to each theme. We are again partnering with Meet Up and Eat Up to provide free breakfast and lunch for all registrants. The Meet Up and Eat Up program (breakfast/lunch) will not start until June 26, please pack a lunch the first week of camp, and on July 3.

KAMP KZOO THINGS TO REMEMBER

Themed Weeks:

  • CAMP KICK OFF! – NO MORE HOMEWORK!! Each day you will have a chance to show off your individual style and a chance to meet new friends!  Creating personal identification cards and friendship bracelets is only the beginning of kicking off your exciting summer!
  • THE ARTIST IN YOU – Are you a Performing Artist or into creating works of Art? This week is designed to bring out your music, acting, and creative skills.  We will visit local art establishment, Art Bayou, where you can show off your artistic creativity.
  • CELEBRATE THE RED, WHITE, & BLUE – This week is all about the good ol’ US of A! We will celebrate the USA, Independence Day, and patriotic history through art and themed games all week long!  This is a 4 day camp week as we are closed on the 4th.
  • SHOW YOUR KAMP SPIRIT – Show your spirit through team banners, goofy hats, minute to win it games, crazy dress day, and a RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS!!
  • H2OUTDOOR DISCOVERY – Always a big hit with in the summer, this week will focus on water games, our 48 FOOT LONG slip and slide, squirt gun wars along with trips and activities to explore the Kalamazoo outdoors along with visits from our Nature Center friends.
  • SPORTS FAN-TASTIC – Wear apparel from your favorite college, pro team, or something related to YOUR FAVORITE sport! We’ll be introducing you to some new team sports like Ultimate Frisbee, as well as some of our past Kamp Kzoo favorites. In addition to learning new and exciting ways to gets your body movin!
  • KOOL KREATURES – Playing games with animal themes, checking out an alligator/reptile farm, and much more. Discover the KOOLNESS of nature’s creatures.
  • KAMP KONFUSION – Everything about this week is backwards!! Wear your clothes backward, games will be played backwards, lunch before breakfast is a possibility.  Who knows what could happen, within reasonJ, on this krazee confusing week!
  • KZOO KAMPS PARK BASH – Enjoy the great outdoors as CAMP KZOO campers partake in number of different summer time games, nature crafts, a BIG COOKOUT @ Upjohn Park with all the camps.

EARLY MORNING DROP OFF WILL BE BACK AGAIN THIS YEAR:

For $26 per child/per week you can drop off your child at 7:30am at Mayors’ Riverfront Park. Payment must be made the week prior to your child participating in the early morning drop off program. If you child is registered for the YDC or Douglass sites, city staff will transport your child after breakfast to his or her site.
