On Saturday, December 9, 2017 the Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation Department will host its 12th annual Candy Cane Hunt Presented by Kellogg Community Credit Union at Mayor’s Riverfront Park. Children will hunt for nearly 5,000 candy canes on Homer Stryker Field. We will also be drawing names for gifts, feature arts and crafts, and Santa Claus will be at the event.

We will have prizes for the first 75 participants per age group who register, as well as 10 large stockings per age group and 3 grand prize winners per age group. Registration will occur at the entrance to the baseball field, and the prize drawings will happen where the participants exit the field.

Please bring your unwrapped toy to benefit the Toys for Tots program here in West Michigan. All kids that donate a toy to the Toys for Tots will receive an additional 2 entries for the Santa Sack drawing (limit 1 prize per child).

We will be supplying a limited amount of  complimentary hot chocolate and coffee to help make what is sure to be a cold day a little bit more bearable!
